FAQ: How does a home inspection benefit me if I’m buying a home?

If you are in the process of buying a home, a home inspection can often save you thousands of dollars on the final purchase price, and even more on unexpected repairs in the future.

An experienced home inspector can identify issues with a home’s foundation, exterior. roof, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems that should be repaired (or replaced) by the seller prior to the sale of the home… IF concessions for those issues have not already been factored into the price of the home.

The information regarding any issues found in your home inspection report gives you the leverage you need to negotiate concessions that result in a truly fair purchase price for your home.

FAQ: How does the home inspection process work for homebuyers?

FAQ: How long will it take the inspector to complete my inspection?

Most inspections take anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on various factors including:

  • the size of the house
  • whether the house has a basement, or crawlspace
  • the number of mechanical systems
  • the age and overall condition of the house
  • the inspection package you chose

FAQ: How long does it take to receive the home inspection report?

Our goal is to have your inspection report to you the same day.

We do offer instant report delivery with two of our inspection packages.

Your inspector will send you a link to the web-based report immediately after completing your home inspection.

When the timing or complexity of your inspection requires us to finalize the report in the evening, you can expect to have your report no later than 24 hours after the inspection is completed.

FAQ: Do I need to be present for the inspection?

Actually, no. While our clients are always welcome to accompany the inspector during the inspection if they wish, it is usually best to allow the inspector to complete the inspection, review your report, and then ask any questions you may have.

This allows your inspector to focus on every step of the inspection process without distraction, which is ultimately how you will get the best result from your investment.
